First of all I would like to share my pain and immense suffering that I have for the Ukrainian people.
This unjustified, inexplicable, irrationally cold invasion by the Russian armed forces has displaced the whole world, leaving a trail of questions and perplexities for the future of the Ukrainian people and the whole world.
Today I am writing this article not to express my disappointment about this war or to express my concerns in the face of the rising prices of gasoline, gas and wheat.
But I would like to bring to light the humanitarian drama that my fellow men live in this political disaster.
Once again, when you think that you think that humanity and common sense can take away from ignorance, from stupidity we find ourselves disappointed and face openly the reality that strikes us without censorship.
Turning on social media, I find a video where a Black girl is denied access to the train departing from Kiev for the Ukrainian border.
She is expressly ordered to get off the train and later pushed to prevent her from getting into the salo, at the same time another soldier gently picks up a Ukrainian girl who is put on the train and also her family and other compatriots.
Once again, despite her critical situation, she was unable to save herself due to the color of her skin.
Color that she did not choose, wanted but that the lord our god has granted her.
Color for which she will surely feel guilty because of this episode.
But I would like to say this:
you are not racism.
you are not racism.
you are not racism.
you are not racism.
you are not racism.
your skin is not burden.
there is no mark against you.
your being is a holy beauty.
you.
are a holy beauty.
But it must also be said that Racist insults leave you feeling dirty because, even at five years old, we already know
on some level that, in this society at least, we are indeed lesser citizens with all
the baggage of racialised history following us ghost-like about our days. We are
conquered people living in the conquerors' land, and as such we are people
without honor. At five years old we are already conscious of the offense caused
by our black body turning up in the wrong space, and have begun to internalise
the negative ideas about blackness so present in the culture.
In all this sorrow my thoughts go to this girl to whom I would like to say:
We are powerful because we have survived, and that is what it is all about- survival and growth.
Own your magic, walk in your purpose, and rock your truth
The black skin is not a badge of shame, but rather a glorious symbol of national greatness
Whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free. . . your true self comes out. "
Your life is already artful- waiting, just waiting, for you to make it art.
To conclude, I would like to affirm all my admiration for the Ukrainian people for their patriotism, respect for their values and vigor in the spirit of the homeland. The whole world supports you, hold on to yourself and your children's future.
